Winter 2024 Study Group: the Melrose Experiment
January 31 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm PST
FreeWe are thrilled to invite you to our Winter 2024 Study Group!
Presenter: Lee Collver-Richards
Lee Collver-Richards has been in school since the age of 3 in Dr. George Cormack’s TEMPO school in Edmonton. She has taught, studied, and lived in four countries, three languages, and seven universities. But her favorite is always in the company of absolute beginners who demonstrate and live life to the fullest in each moment.
About the Project:
I will present how a small group of parents, teachers, and educational coaches transformed a “failing” American inner-city public school into a STREAM experience for all, by choosing a growth mindset above all political agendas.
I call it “The Melrose Experiment”. I’ll share how I learned to thrive in it using the Reggio Emilia approach, even though I didn’t know it at the time. How retraining our adult brains to elevate its operating system to match and work at the high frequency levels of a child, makes every school day a joy, and the connections real and vibrant, to the benefit of all its “members”.
- Certificate of Professional Development Hours will be provided
This event is facilitated by Roselyn Gutierrez:
